About DCWC2006
The technologies for Digital Content processing and
Web Computing (DCWC) are becoming more and more important for the development
of knowledge society infrastructure. The research and development on the
creation, retrieval, delivery and utilization technologies of digital content
will become the key issue for the development of the knowledge society.
The DCWC2006 consists of the following 2-day forum and 1-day student workshop.
- The 2nd NICT Japan-China Joint Research
Forum on Digital Content and Web Computing
The forum is organized by NICT (National Institute of Information and Communications Technology, Japan), Kyoto University and Tsinghua-Microsoft Joint Lab on Network and Multimedia Technologies with the cooperation of several universities and Industrial research laboratories in China and Japan. This forum especially focuses on the technologies for the next-generation Web search. It provides an international forum for sharing ideas, knowledge, and experiences among researchers, educators and engineers from Japan and China. The program of DCWC2006 includes the presentation and demonstration of the recent research results of NICT interactive communication media and contents group, Kyoto University, and several universities/Industrial research laboratories. Many famous researchers from Japan and China are invited to introduce and discuss the new research topics on next-generation Web search. Also, the DCWC2006 aims at providing opportunities for attendants to promote the chances for the collaborative researches among Chinese universities, Chinese industrial research laboratories, NICT and Kyoto University.
- The 1st China-Kyoto Student Workshop
on Digital Content and Web Computing (CKSW2006)
The 1st China-Kyoto Student Workshop on Digital Content and Web Computing (CKSW2006, 1 day), aims to provide an opportunity for Ph.D. candidate students in both of China and Japan to exchange ideas and comments on their research, which is organized by Kyoto University, Tsinghua-Microsoft Joint Lab on Network and Multimedia Technologies and NICT with the cooperation of several universities and industrial research laboratories in China and Japan.
The professors, researchers, engineers, graduate students and post-docs who are related to or interested in digital content and Web computing, are invited for participation.
