講演概要:
We live in a world with 250M broadband connections and 2.5billion handsets. it seems likely then that the future dominant method by which content is received and user experiences generated will be via the handset. Current evidence suggest that the approach generally taken is to modify PC-based applications for a smaller form factor, screen and keypad. Current evidence also suggests this approach is failing.
What then are the requirements for successful applications on handsets? Why does so much fail and so much user disappointment reported? This talk argues that in order to succeed one needs to recognise the fundamentally different mode of interaction that mobile demands and the specific technological advantages it offers. A specific example 'The Cartography of Experience' shows how primitive mobile tagging mechansims allied to data mining can create landscapes where experience is shared and opportunities for fun and pleasure can be found.
